Don't start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Some Guy

Despite the title of this post, this is more about transitions. After all, we never really leave it all behind, do we? There’s always something that follows us through to the other side.

In the case of this blog, it’s the flexibility and enjoyment I’ve gained from my earlier experiments with Jekyll-based platforms. Though I’ve decided to run leaner, the core is the same. There’s probably a broader lesson to be learned in that, but I’ll let it stand, since it seems the sort of truth that’s only trivialized by words.

As I am wont to do, I’ve found myself dissatisfied with the status quo, and am re-launching. I found Octopress too convoluted, though it certainly has it’s brilliant bits, and I’ll likely be borrowing some of the pieces. While I could have gone about tearing it apart to rebuild it to my liking, I think that it’s better to begin anew.

This site is supposed to record my wanderings, experiments (successful and failed), and I’ve done a terrible job of it in the past, but by removing the obstacles, I hope to encourage future improvement in that regard.

Upcoming, I’ll be documenting the experience of setting up my recently aquired HP Proliant MicroServer (N40L). I’ve got big plans for this device, and it’s going to be a wild ride, so stay tuned.

I’ll see you on the other side.
